If there’s one lesson I learned from playing high school sports, it’s not to moon passing cars on the bus ride home. Besides that, though? Don’t be a poor sport and do something that you, your coach or your school will regret.
Not sure if Gilmour High School in Cleveland, Oh. got that message, though, because they just humiliated their opponent, Northeast Ohio College Prep, in the most embarrassing fashion ever, running up the final score to 108-1.
Now, seeing as how NE Ohio College Prep was playing like shit and couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn, you would think that Gilmour’s coaching staff would just take their foot off the pedal and coast to an easy win, right? Not so much, because here’s what the school’s head coach Bob Beutel said, per Cleveland.com:
“Our intent was to not run anything up, and we took steps to not disrespect our opponent,” Gilmour coach Bob Beutel said. “They went 0-for-28 from the field and 1-for-4 from the free-throw line. We let them shoot.”
So much for good sportsmanship and teaching life lessons, coach!
