In the annals of snow penises we’ve seen them constructed to tremendous heights at Texas Tech as well as at Michigan State.
The problem with those snow penises is that being constructed out of snow they were easily removed and people couldn’t revel in their splendor for very long.
That, however, is not the case in Gothenburg, Sweden. You see, in Gothenburg some genius decided that rather than “build” a snow penis, they would just go ahead and draw a giant penis IN the snow.
The genius part is that they did it on a frozen river. Why is this genius? Because when city officials received complaints about the penis they went out on the ice to remove it, but, uh oh, the ice was too thin and started to crack.
Reports Darko Brankovic, director of Gothenburg’s Parks and Landscape Administration, via the Mirror…
“They judged that the ice would not stay put. They did not dare to go out on to the moat and consequently the artwork is there until thawing weather returns.”
He added that he understood both those who think the penis is offensive and those who only see the fun in it all.
So there you go. The next time you want to make a snow penis that has some staying power you now know what to do.
