Patriots linebacker Darius Fleming wasn’t a huge factor in the Patriots win against the Chiefs but what he contributed off the field mattered much more.
Two nights before the Pats big playoff game against the Chiefs, Fleming disregarded his own health and safety to save a woman from a burning car.
Here’s Fleming recanting the story via The Boston Globe
“She was attempting to kick the window out but she was a small lady,” Fleming said (via the Boston Globe). “I didn’t panic, but I was just like, ‘I got to get her out.’ I tried to break (the window) with my elbow, but that didn’t work, so I just started kicking the window. Eventually it broke, pulled her out, made sure she was OK, and I looked at my leg and I noticed it was bleeding pretty bad.”
According to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe, Fleming received 22 stitches and played through it on Saturday.
Amazing.
