Back in 2014, Chris Sheridan was the first person to officially go on record and report LeBron James was returning to Cleveland back in 2014 days before anyone else.

Three years later and Sheridan as back with another bombshell about LeBron. According to the veteran NBA writer, his sources are telling him that LeBron is “100 percent leaving” Cleveland due to a falling out with Cavs owner Dan Gilbert.

It’s hard to doubt Sheridan’s sourcing considering his track record and the current state of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

We are in peak fishing season throughout most of the United States so I figured we’d take some time and look at the best fishing lures of 2017. Down here in Florida the snook are lined up on the beaches in big numbers. I caught my first bonefish last weekend down in the Florida Keys and the tarpon were rolling through in strong numbers. You can catch redfish throughout much of the state. The Largemouth Bass bite is on fire everywhere. If you can find chilly water streams there are still trout to be caught out West. The fishing is HOT, bros.

If you’re like me, you have a handful of tackle boxes and each of them is loaded up for different types of fishing. Since I don’t have a boat and the ability to shoot out offshore whenever I want I only keep tackle for inshore fishing here in Florida (snook, trout, redfish, tarpon), bass fishing, and trout fishing in upstate New York.

Fishermen typically don’t like to share what’s working for them but I’m feeling generous today, so I figured I’d share some of the lures today with you all which I’ve caught countless fish on over the years, as well as a few new lures which were introduced at ICAST 2017 this year and are supposed to be the future of fishing. I’m sure I’ll leave out some lures here that you swear by but that’s because I’m not out there fishing in your backyard, and there are only so many hours in the day to cover the best fishing lures around.

Apple is about to become a major player in the streaming service marketplace. The tech behemoth is reportedly set to spend $1 billion on original entertainment in a bid to become a major player in getting your streaming dollars. Apple will spend the money on original TV shows and movies, much like what has catapulted Netflix into the streaming giant that it is today. To give you an idea of budgets, Netflix is expected to spend approximately $7 billion on its original content this year. Besides the streaming kingpin Netflix, a $1 billion budget would still put Apple behind Amazon with $4.5 billion in 2017 and HBO at around $2 billion per year. A single episode of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” can cost more than $10 million.

With that giant lump of money, Apple could develop and produce a great deal of quality entertainment. However, where would Apple stream these new TV shows? Apple does not have their own streaming service. Currently, Apple produces two original TV shows, “Planet of the Apps” and “Carpool Karaoke,” and uses Apple Music to broadcast them. Spending $1 billion for Apple is small potatoes since the company reported to have $261.5 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and long-term investments as of July 1, 2017.

People have been trying to figure out the best way to drink whiskey ever since the Scottish figured out how to make the stuff way back in the 15th century. Some people say you should pour it into a glass and sip it neatly. Others claim you should add copious amounts of cinnamon flavoring and take shots like there’s no tomorrow. There are many schools of discipline when it comes to the “right” way to drink whiskey, and no one can seem to agree on which one is actually correct.

Thankfully, we have brave men like Bjorn Karlsson and Ran Friedman who are willing to do whatever is necessary to bring us an answer. The two are researchers at Sweden’s Linnaeus University Center for Biomaterials Chemistry, and they were inspired to start the search for the truth after Friedman visited Scotland and was told my a native to add some water to his whisky to amplify the flavor.

While the practice would seem counterintuitive to some, it appeared to be widespread enough that Karlsson and Friedman decided they needed to dig a bit deeper. They came up with two theories, one of which revolved around water trapping unpleasant compounds and the other focusing on its ability to release molecules that contribute to a pleasant flavor. After some additional research, the duo realized the latter theory had more merit and set out to figure out exactly why this was.

While whiskey contains thousands of compounds that contribute to its flavor, the scientists decided to focus primarily on a substance called guaiacol, which is responsible for whiskey’s trademark peaty flavor. An in-depth article in the Washington Post explains the experiment in depth, which sadly involved a number of computer simulations as opposed to a bunch of scientists getting drunk.

The simulations showed that the addition of water causes the guaiacol to rise to the top of the drink, increasing the aroma and flavor. In an interview with NPR, the researchers said there is something to be said for adding water to standard strength whiskey (around 80 proof), but that no exact formula for calculating the perfect amount exists (thanks to the variance in flavors from whiskey to whiskey in addition to personal preference). However, they did say to err on the side of caution, as too much water could easily dilute the drink.

We might be a while away from figuring out the science behind the perfect glass of whiskey, but at least we’re on the right track. Try adding a drop or two of water to your whiskey the next time you decide to imbibe.

Shaquille O’Neal was very open regarding how he was unfaithful to his ex-wife Shaunie O’Neal in his autobiography Shaq Uncut: My Story, so the fact that he cheated isn’t a revelation. However, Shaunie’s reaction when she found out that Shaq was cheating on her is and it’s freaking priceless.

The couple were married in 2002 and officially divorced in 2009 after Shaunie filed divorce papers in 2007 amid allegations of Shaq having affairs. Shaunie, who now appears on the TV show Basketball Wives, was discussing that time period with one of her co-stars Evelyn Lozada when she detailed how she wrecked Shaq’s car with a knife and then proceeded to publicly humiliate him when she discovered his cheating ways.

“Our blackberries got switched. I went to my baby’s play at school and I was like “damn, my phone is going off a lot.” Just girl, after girl, after girl like ‘baby last night what you did.’ And I went in the arena and I went in that garage, not only did I flatten tires, bust a few windows, I wrote on the hood of his car, ‘I cheat on my wife. I ain’t sh*t’ with a knife.

I wrote it on the hood and down the side of the car. He had to drive that sh*t on four flats, with the messages all around it. I drove right on the side of his ass blowing the horn, cause I wanted to people to like see. Beep! Beep! The Whole ride, the whole ride.”

Damn. Guess that whole “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” saying is true, huh? Then again, if you don’t cheat, you won’t feel the fury.

UFC star Conor MccGregor is apparently not happy boxers are mocking his unorthodox warm-up technique on social media. On Wednesday, McGregor spoke to the media on a conference call and opened up about feeling discarded and disrespected by boxers before his upcoming fight with Floyd Mayweather.

“It’s like I’ve been discarded, and it’s like I’m not welcome here,” McGregor told reporters on today’s media conference call. “It’s certainly motivating, the disrespect and the disregard for my skill set. I look at people sometimes, and their mind is closed. They’ve got such a closed mind on how things can be done. It’s a set way and no other way.

“It’s like when we went across the waters to another land, or when we went into space. You’ve got to have an open mind and realize there are other ways, and there’s a time and a place for every single movement.”

“I’ve seen some videos,” McGregor said. “It is what it is. It’s light-hearted. I don’t take it personal. If anything I see stiffness in every single one of them.”

Conor’s comments comes days after boxers Terence Crawford, David Haye, and others mocked the UFC champion for his bizarre warm-up technique.

SPORTS ILLUSTRATED SET TO TAKE ON IMG; BREAKS INTO MODELING BUSINESS

Sports Illustrated (TIME), looking to capitalize on the buzz its annual Swimsuit Edition creates, is taking a crack at the modeling business. With the creation of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Enterprises, the company plans to turn their popular mid-February issue into a year-round business and licensing venture. SI announced it will be partnering on a high-end swimwear line, with Raj Swim, to be released early next year. Following a recent casting call, the newly created division signed 15 previously undiscovered models.

Howie Long-Short: SI Swimsuit has the eye for talent, name cache and a well respected editor in M J Day leading the new venture. I like this move for TIME.

Fan Marino: Seems like a long time coming. Every girl they put on the cover becomes a super-model. Kate Upton is the GOAT.

DISNEY NOW OWNS 75% OF BAMTECH; DIGITAL CONTENT DELIVERY CO. WILL POWER SHIFT IN TO STREAMING

The Walt Disney Company (DIS), who just last year acquired 33% of digital media darling BAMTech for $1 billion, has reached a deal to become the majority stakeholder in the company that will provide the infrastructure behind the media giant’s shift in to streaming. DIS announced it has picked up an option to purchase an additional 42% of the MLB Advanced Media spinoff for $1.58 billion. The technology, which currently acts as the backbone behind WatchESPN, will power ESPN’s newly announced OTT service, along with Disney’s ambitions to compete with Netflix (NFLX) in the streaming space.

Howie Long-Short: No surprise here. It was clear from the start that DIS sees BAMTech as the foundation for their digital sports platform going forward. Sure wasn’t cheap, but Disney has deep pockets.

Fan Marino: Each of the 30 MLB teams put up $4 million to develop BAMTech. It returned $50 million/team and collectively MLB and its teams still own 15% of the company. Not a bad ROI.

PADDY POWER BETFAIR EXPERIENCING HEADWINDS; CEO RESIGNED, DISAPPOINTING Q2 EARNINGS & GOV’T REVIEW PENDING

Since Paddy Power Betfair (PDYPY) went public in 2000, the online gambling site is up 40-fold. With analysts projecting double-digit growth in both profits and revenue over the next several years, it would seem as if investors would be bullish on the company. However, a recent 9% drop indicates otherwise. Investors are concerned about CEO Breon Corcoran unexpectedly stepping down, the recent earnings report which reflected disappointing growth numbers within the online division and questions surrounding Britain’s pending review of the gaming industry. While shares are down 30% from their February high, they are currently trading at a 44% premium on enterprise valuation within the sector. For those who see an opportunity, a growing online sports betting business and strong balance sheet support their case for an investment.

Howie Long-Short: Corcoran noted during the Q2 earnings call that the PDYPY consumer facing product is “not good enough” and that the “UI is a bit sloppy”. It’s also not an immediate focus for the company, with stack integration consuming 70% of technical resources. For an industry that is moving increasingly online, that must be a cause for concern.

Fan Marino: With college football season just 2 weeks away, I’m going to give you an early winner. Auburn -34.5 (Caesars) vs. Georgia Southern. Take your antacid and give the 5 TDs.

MYSTERY CHINESE INVESTOR PREPARING TO PURCHASE 8% OF MANU SHARES

A mystery Chinese buyer is reportedly preparing to line up and purchase publicly traded shares of Premier League franchise, Manchester United (MANU) in an attempt to control upwards of 8% of the futbol club. The Glazer family currently owns 80% of MANU, while the remaining 20% is held by investment funds in New York and London. It has been rumored that some members of the Glazer family would be willing to part with a large chunk of shares.

Howie Long-Short: Forbes values the franchise at $3.69 billion, while MANU has a market cap in the range of $2.75 billion. Perhaps this mystery individual is onto something.

Fan Marino: Red Devils’ fans have never been pleased with the way the Glazer family operates. A new, powerful, voice in the room would be a welcomed addition.

ADIDAS SIGNS BIGGEST SPONSORSHIP DEAL IN MLS HISTORY

Adidas (ADDYY) and MLS have agreed on a massive six-year deal worth an estimated $700 million, making it the largest investment Adidas has made to date in North American soccer and the largest sponsorship deal in MLS history. The lucrative extension means that Adidas will remain the official apparel supplier for the league’s teams and its affiliated youth programs. The annual value of the new contract ($117 million) exceeds the amount MLS generates from all of its TV contracts combined ($90 million/year) and is valued at 70% more per year than Adidas pays the NHL ($70 million) for its apparel partnership.

Howie Long-Short: Adidas is desperate to make their mark in the US, and soccer is obviously their hallmark. Less clear how long it takes for MLS to develop into more than a lucrative semi-retirement home for geriatric European stars.

Fan Marino: Buying an MLS team in 2017 is like buying an NFL team prior to 1990. Nothing but upside.

That’s right, like it or not (and MANY of you do not), The Big Bang Theory is back for season number 11. Hard to cancel or quit a show that inexplicably was the most watched show in 2016, I guess.

I wonder if the show would still be on after 10 seasons if they had actually went with their original choice to play Penny, Amanda Walsh, instead of Kaley Cuoco. My guess is that it would not. Just a hunch. I say that pretty much because Kaley Cuoco is awesome.

Who else talks about taking their “golden globes” to the Golden Globes? Or has the guts to admit that her boob job was the “best thing I ever did”? It’s that kind of personality that has made her and, ugh, her show so popular.

One other person that has also had a hand in the show’s success is Sheldon Cooper, I mean Jim Parsons. He’s so damn popular that his character is getting it’s own spin-off. And that too is because he has such a great sense of humor, which was put on display when Cuoco decided to post a photo of herself not wearing a shirt on Instagram Wednesday night.

The movie based on Stephen King’s scary AF book IT comes out on Friday, September 8th and there is no way I am going to go see it. (Yes, I am.) To hell with being scared by clowns. (I’ll probably be first in line.) Especially clowns as frightening as the one in IT, Pennywise. (No way I am missing this movie).

As if going to see the movie isn’t going to be terrifying enough, now they went and created a cinematic VR experience that in all likelihood will take years off your life if you try it. (So going to so this.)

In this cinematic VR experience, called It: Float VR, you get to virtually walk the streets of Derry as one of the characters in the book/movie Georgie Denbrough. Oh yeah, you also get to visit the sewers, because why wouldn’t you, and get treated to seeing a bunch of red balloons and other stuff that’ll scare the crap out of you.

Naturally, you also get to meet “Pennywise the Dancing Clown” and see his freakyass lair, and, let’s just be honest here, things really don’t go well for you.

Trust me, if you own a VR headset, or just value your well-being in general, you really don’t want to watch this. (Yes, you do. You most definitely do.)

Everyone has a certain kind of internet video they turn to when they’re looking for something they know will put them in a good mood. Some people might watch dogs welcoming soldiers home, while others might prefer clips of their baby animal of choice. There’s certainly nothing wrong with either of those options, but I prefer a category that often goes overlooked: college football players getting scholarships when they least expect it.

Being a college athlete requires a tremendous amount of hard work and sacrifice, and while some players are lucky enough to have the education subsidized in one way or another, walk-ons aren’t exactly going to be the target of football boosters looking to buy someone a car. They’re essentially paying for the privilege of putting on their school’s uniform while playing alongside teammates who are still not getting paid thank to the soullessness of the NCAA.

While most of these scholarship presentations are planned well in advance, the case of Bowling Green kicker Jake Suder is a bit less traditional. Suder was in the middle of practice on when head coach Mike Jinks issued a challenge: if he could hit a 53-yard field goal, he’d be rewarded with a full scholarship.

That’s one way to get your kicker to deal with pressure.

Thankfully, Suder answered the call.

More cynical readers might think this was a stunt set up entirely for retweets or say that Suder was going to be rewarded with a scholarship regardless of the outcome. However, if Yahoo Sports is to be believed, this was as organic as it comes.

According to Bowling Green spokesman Jason Knavel:

“Coach had two scholarships still available for kids this year and Jake was one of the few kids who they had on their short list as a possibility for those two. There had been no final determination on exactly how those scholarships would be given out. So, at practice, they were kicking and Jake was nailing them. So when they got to the long one, Coach Jinks out of the blue told him, ‘Knock this one down for a full scholarship.’”

Would we be talking about how messed up this entire charade was if Suder had shanked the kick? Maybe. But he didn’t, so let’s just try to enjoy it.

It’s been a rough week for Jags’ franchise QB Blake Bortles. Just a few days ago, Blake was cursed out by a teammate for overthrowing a ball in practice and now he has to deal with Jalen Ramsey liking a post on Instagram suggesting the team should replace him with someone else.

It’s going to a be a long season for Bortles and the Jags this season.

Matt Stonie is one of the premiere competitive eaters in the world right now. He’s currently the #2 ranked competitive eater in the world. In 2015, Matt Stonie beat Joey Chestnut and won the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest. Matt holds multiple competitive eating world records including Peeps (he ate 255 Peeps in 5 minutes), Moon Pies, Pancakes, Carne Asada Tacos, Bacon, and a shit ton of others.

For what’s currently the #1 trending video on YouTube, Matt Stonie fired up the camera for the Popeyes 16-piece challenge. The challenge comes in at up to 8,745 calories depending on which sides you order, and for this challenge it’s 8,265 calories, 505 grams of fat, 557 grams of Carbs, and 385g protein. This family meal challenge consists of 16 pieces of deep fried Popeyes chicken, 3 large sides, and 8 buttery biscuits. It takes Matt over 25 minutes to put down the behemoth amount of fried chicken but in the end, he emerges victorious.

I think one of the things I enjoy the most about Matt Stonie’s competitive eating videos is how they differ from the timed competitions. By not placing time constraints on his YouTube challenges he’s able to push his body further than we’d ever seen in a professional eating competition. For instance, he recently ate 13 POUNDS of milk and cookies in under half an hour. He also devoured FOUR 4x4In-N-Out Burgers in under 3 minutes. The dude is a total beast when he sets his mind to an eating challenge, as you can see above.

It’s been about eight months since we last checked in on NASCAR star Danica Patrick’s Instagram account. And from the looks of things she is still on that yoga grind showing off her mad skill at doing handstands in odd places.

This time Danica, now 35, pulled off a crazy-looking handstand pose while wearing a bikini on the Jacuzzi her boyfriend, fellow NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., 29, had installed at their home. Reminds me a little bit of when Patrick and her attractive friend whose name I don’t know did similar things on a boat awhile back.

Plus we already know how crazy flexible she is…

So it’s no real surprise that she can now pull off a crazy impressive move like this…

Stuff like that is how she’s going to keep that money train a-rollin’ once someone finally figures out that she’s never going actually win a race in NASCAR. She’s already well on her way to being one of those fitness/lifestyle gurus now with books…

As well as lothes and other income-generating ventures…

She’s just got to keep posting stuff like this and she’s golden…
