I’ve been on a little bit of a tiny house kick lately. It all started a couple weeks ago when I watched that amazing video tour of pro snowboarder Mike Basich’s secluded, hand-built ski cabin at the top of a mountain near Lake Tahoe. Then this past week a $39,000 “portable cabin” made me want to quit everything and live deep in seclusion with all the creature comforts I need to get by. I guess I’m a bit of an escapism idealist.
These portable tiny cabins are products of Portland, Oregon’s Heirloom Tiny Homes, a company that inspired HGTV’s Tiny Luxury show. The company builds custom tiny houses, catering to a client interested in something rustic, yet luxurious. Tiny House Swoon, a blog dedicated to the Tiny House lifestyle, recently grabbed some pics of Heirloom’s custom-crafted mini-cabins, including one with a roof deck. I want it so bad.
Curbed notes that Heirloom Tiny Homes’ base model packages start at $79,000.
Not going to lie, I’d be the coolest dude in the Phish parking lot if I bought one of these before summer tour. One can dream…
