By now, we’re all well aware of the Fourth of July freak fireworks accident that forced doctors to amputate Jason Pierre Paul’s index finger, surgically repair his disfigured middle finger. The incident also left the Giants Pro Bowl defensive end with close to zero mobility in his right thumb.
Enough time passed for the internet to make light of accident, namely after Pierre-Paul came oh so close to batting down a crucial pass from Cam Newton back in late December.
But the latest picture released by Pierre-Paul brings reality into a situation that we all had maybe, possibly a little bit too much fun with. It probably got a little out of hand. I can’t even help myself.
The photo, which Pierre-Paul reports was taken the day after the incident, is the most recent picture made public after the accident. And I never want to see it again.
P.S. From the looks of that hospital, I’m not surprised they cut his finger off. If he were in a hospital that didn’t resemble an insane asylum, they would have stitched him up and he would have walked out that night with a lolly pop. Probably.
