Last week the Oregon Historical Society released a previously undiscovered video, check that, it’s more than a video, it’s a goddamn half-hour long movie, all about the perils of porn…in 1962.
Apparently, back in 1962 there was a better than decent chance that one of your kids might get murdered because another teen named Paul had been checking out pornography in magazines and books with titles such as Shows All, Tells All and Home of the Stripper. At least that’s how the story unfolds in this amazing film.
“I don’t know why I did it! I don’t know why!” Paul cries when asked why he would do something as heinous as commit murder. But the cops already knew the answer: porn.
Added bonus: The film is narrated by Tom Harmon, aka the Heisman Trophy turned broadcaster and NCIS Special Agent Mark Harmon’s dad, for the Citizens for Decent Literature, a Catholic anti-pornography group.
Sadly, how and why porn caused Paul to make such a wicked decision to kill is never answered.
