Did you think we’d end the week without giving you one more student-teacher sex scandal? Not a chance.
Meet Santa Teresa High School teacher Trudy Hill. The 32-year-old English teacher turned herself into authorities on Thursday after she was charged with oral copulation with a minor and sending harmful matter to a minor. She posted bail and was released on bail the same day.
The teacher from San Jose, California was arrested because there was suspicion that she sent nudes to a 17-year-old student and had oral sex with him.
Police said Hill had a sexual relationship with the student between August and November.
“Hill used her position of authority to exploit the victim into a sexual relationship,” said San Jose police Sgt. Enrique Garcia.
Police said only one victim has been identified, but police haven’t ruled out the possibility that there are others.
Hill has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal investigation and a separate internal probe launched by the school district into the allegations against her. Heh. Heh. You said “probe.”
“We are shocked and deeply disturbed by these allegations,” the statement read. “We want to assure the community that the safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority.”
Hill is the fourth district employee this year to be accused of sexual misconduct with a student. So they’ve got that going for them.
On the website RateMyTeachers.com, Ms. Hill was given a 5 out 5 rating in the category of “Easiness.”
Overall Ms. Hill was given a 4.2 rating out of 5.
