Les Miles got the ax from LSU this past Sunday after a botched attempt to run him out last year. Miles’ firing leaves a lot of speculation around who should take over the high-profile head coaching job at the SEC powerhouse. On the surface, Houston’s Tom Herman makes the most sense, as he was a successful offensive coordinator at Ohio State and his team currently resides in the forgettable American Conference, but has climbed to #6 in the national AP poll. Jimbo Fisher is likely the other person of interest, considering LSU began negotiating a deal with Fisher’s agent last year before choosing to retain Miles. Only time will tell, but whatever the decision may be, it’s sure to shake up the college football landscape.
