Max Akin certainly deserved to be homecoming king. Last week, the quarterback had an astounding game throwing for 344 yards and five scores in leading his Fossil Ridge High School to a 40-12 win. However, it was off the field during his tremendous game, that he did something even more remarkable.

The incredibly gifted and wise star quarterback at the high school near Fort Worth, Texas, had 200 passing yards, 60 rushing yards, and four touchdowns by halftime, but it was his selfless act at halftime that is the real eye-opener. He presented his homecoming crown to his friend, K.L. Norwood, who has cerebral palsy.

“I think it should’ve gone to the person who positively uplifts the school and everybody around him and that person is K.L., for sure,” Akin said.

“I didn’t know when I would have the right time to do it,” Akin said. “But I saw K.L., came over and gave him a hug, and I knew that he wanted that crown more than anything.”

Max Akin, number 2 in your program, but number 1 in your heart.
