Football is BACK, bros.
Well, at least in the ranks of high school and the NCAA, kicking off with the drubbing the Cal Golden Bears laid on Hawaii last night in some far west (Sydney, Australia) PAC-12 action.
And while Cal was getting ready to run train on the Rainbow Warriors down under, a high school sophomore running back from Braulio Alonso High School in Tampa, FL., was seeing to it that his team’s season got off to a bang, too.
Malik Johnson turned a normal fake punt run play into a highlight for the ages, when he not only hurdled a defender who squared him up, but did so by pulling a 360° corkscrew flip over him, landed on his feet, and kept right on running.
Athleticism here on level bonkers.
Safe to say this is the early contender for special teams play of the year, but unfortunately Johnson’s Alonso Ravens fell to Sickles High School in their home opener, 20-0.
