How much will Conor McGregor earn for UFC 202? A LOT. Win or lose at UFC 202, Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz are slated to make a record-setting amount of money for a UFC fight. On Saturday evening before the fight started, theNevada Athletic Commission disclosed the purse for both Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz. McGregor’s $3 million pay day is more than what Brock Lesnar brought in for UFC 202 in July, according SB Nationa’s MMA Fighting.com:
Conor McGregor will make a disclosed $3 million fight purse at UFC 202 for his main event fight against Nate Diaz at T-Mobile Arena. Diaz will make $2 million. Neither one of them will get a win bonus. The information was released Saturday at the start of the event by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC).
Brock Lesnar made the previous record of $2.5 million disclosed at UFC 200 last month. McGregor had the record before that, the first $1 million purse in UFC history at UFC 196 in March.
Both McGregor and Diaz are likely much more than just the disclosed purses. McGregor said this week that he was making more than $10 million. Diaz is likely in a similar range.
Wowzas. Pretty sure William Morris-Endeavor, the UFC’s new owner, is going to love the record-breaking PPVs for tonight’s record-breaking fight. Dana White’s deal with the UFC ownership will give him 9% of the company’s profits, so he’s making $$$ on UFC 202 tonight as well.
