Ryan Lochte may be in the U.S. but his teammates weren’t as lucky as they were pulled from their flight and detained by police in Rio who want to investigate their claim that they were victims of a robbery
Over the weekend, Conger, Bentz, and their teammates Ryan Lochte and Jimmy Feigen filed a police report in which they claimed to have been robbed at gunpoint by men posing as police officers near the Olympic village. A few days later, Brazilian officials have expressed their doubts about the swimmers’ claims after a surveillance video showed the men smiling and laughing when the incident supposedly took place.
On Wednesday, a judge ordered that the swimmers’ passports be seized so officers could investigate whether or not the men had made a false report.
As the news broke of Lochte’s teammates being detained in Brazil, the Internet had a bit of fun with the whole situation.
