Today, in what many people called unprecedented, 50 leading Republican national security experts co-signed a letter that blasted their party’s candidate for president, saying Donald Trump “lacks the character, values and experience” to lead this country.
They also said that he “would put at risk our country’s national security and well-being.”
Among the luminaries who signed it are former Homeland Security secretaries Tom Ridge and Michael Chertoff, as well as Michael Hayden, former director of the CIA and NSA. All three served under our last Republican president, George W. Bush.
The letter is fire emojis throughout and you can read a copy here.
If you thought Trump would take that shit from the party establishment, well, you haven’t been following this election at all.
His response torches the letter that tried its fucking best to torch him, saying “They’re nothing more than failed national elites looking to hold on to their power,” and “it’s time to put out foot down and declare the gravy train over.”
We haven’t seen Trump this hot since he went off on the Pope.
