Storyful relayed this near-tragic, but completely comedic video of this guy, Nick Griemsmann, nearly getting lit up by lightning while livestreaming on Periscope in Phoenix, Arizona.
On his website, Griemsmann posted the details of what happened:
“Last Friday night after dinner with a friend in Scottsdale, Arizona I saw a beautiful sunset with storm clouds moving in. I decided to pull over my car and livestream the storm coming in. As I was talking to the viewers a man walked by and asked me where the local bus stop was. As he was walking off I let him know Jesus loved him a lot. Little did I know within 5 minutes later I’d be close to meeting Jesus personally – I was almost struck by lightning while broadcasting!
If you are a prophetic type person, you’ll like this last part. When I was first starting out in ministry I led a prayer meeting at my local church 5-6 days per week. It ran for 18 months from 2010 to February 2012. It was called “Nights of Thunder”. Who would have thought several years later I’d be on television for being almost struck by lightning during a powerful thunderstorm? I honestly believe the Lord had something to do with this because it has allowed me to meet more people. And when I meet people that helps with the planting of God’s word and love into their hearts. Father God is good!”
Nick states that he’s an “Author, Blogger, Livestreamer, Conference Speaker, Media Producer, Human Rights Advocate, Artist, Entrepreneur, World Traveler & Believer”, which must be tough when he has to fill out the occupation field on most medical forms.

Luckily, Griemsmann didn’t need a medical form after this incident. Maybe the lightning missed him because he bathed himself in “holy oil“? The “miracle” landed him interviews with Channel 12 and Channel 3, so maybe he can lobby to do their weather reports because he’s so tight with God and Jesus.
