One of the first responders to the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 will finally have a funeral service, 15 years after the 9/11 attacks.
Battalion Chief Lawrence Stack of the FDNY will be laid to rest on Friday, June 17th. Stack perished in the 9/11 attacks and his body was never recovered. In his place, the family will bury two vials of blood he donated just before September 11th that were recently recovered from a blood bank.
The buried vial will give the family a some closure and will give friends one last chance to salute a hero.
