Miami Dolphins defender Koa Misi will probably be hearing from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell soon after news came out that linebacker was involved in a wild fight at a Florida nightclub last weekend.
According to witnesses, Misi and a group of his buddies were involved in an altercation at Cyn Nightclub in Fort Lauderdale in the early hours of Sunday morning, with the NFL player knocking a dude out in front of cops and then, after being taken to the ground by an officer, tried splitting from the scene.
Here are more details from TMZ Sports, per the filed police report:
The cop says it appeared as if the parties were going to separate and leave — but “Misi and other members of his group charged toward the nightclub entrance [at the other group].”
The cop says “I witnessed Misi strike [the victim] in the head, causing him to fall to the ground.”
Then it gets crazier …
The cop says, he was able to “force” the 6’4″, 250 lb linebacker to the ground and told him to sit in place while he tended to the victim.
But Misi allegedly blew off the officer’s orders and tried to run … that is, until super cop “executed a leg sweep to bring him to the ground.”
Yep, you read that right, the cop went Johnny Lawrence on Misi’s ass, sweeping the leg to take him to the pavement.
TMZ added that Koa’s buddies tried to “pull him away and help him escape” before the cop was able to fend them off and detain the Dolplins player as other cops gathered around to help.
Koa Misi was later released and, as of now, no charges have been filed.
