Army infielder Kasey McCravey knew her team desperately needed every run to give them a chance to beat Lehigh in the win-or-go-home Patriot League semifinal game. So she did everything humanly possible to score when the ball beat her to home plate. She improvised. Quite well I might add. Instead of taking out the catcher, she somehow jumped over the catcher and had the wherewithal to turn and tag home plate before the catcher could get her.
Here it is on loop so you can marvel at the athleticism without having to hit “replay” over and over again.
And another view to absorb the amazingness of the play.
McCravey’s amazing acrobatics paved the way for a 3-1 victory for the Black Knights and will face Boston University in the championship game on Sunday.
This is nothing new for Kasey McCravey who has been doing these sort of Matrix-like acrobatics since high school.
