Man, I don’t know who you’re trying to fool, but shelling out $35,000 for an engagement ring and then losing it to the random woman you invited upstairs to party in your hotel room doesn’t quite scream “everlasting love” to me. Maybe “prenup” and maybe “overcompensating,” but “happy marriage”? Nah, y’all are doomed before you even started.
According to Gothamist, police are currently looking for a female suspect who “removed a diamond engagement ring form the 43-year-old male victim’s room inside the Standard Hotel, located at 848 Washington Street.” Oddly enough, the theft took place March 17th – whether we’re only hearing about it now because it took the guy two months to muster up the courage to admit what a goddamn moron he’d been, or because he actually wants justice, remains to be determined.
The suspect in question reportedly has black hair and “is about 5’2” and 120 pounds.” You can spot her in the surveillance camera footage below:
Definitely not hot enough to be worth losing a $35,000 ring over, amirite?
