Just like your mom heads to the local dive on a Tuesday with a strip of rubbers and a toothbrush in her purse, a leading seismologist said the San Andreas fault is “locked, loaded and ready to roll.”

Thomas Jordan, director of the Southern California Earthquake Center, says because no pressure has been released in a while, “the springs on the San Andreas system have been wound very, very tight.”

Sound like anyone you know?

Yea. Your mom.

That’s because it’s been 150 years since the fault saw any serious action, a length of time your mom couldn’t even comprehend. Two days without and she’s texting chatch shots to her entire contacts list saying “Your place or mine?”

From The Los Angeles Times, talking about the fault, not your mom, but replace tectonic plates with thunder thighs and you see how it’s basically the same thing.

Here’s the problem: Scientists have observed that based on the movement of tectonic plates, with the Pacific plate moving northwest of the North American plate, earthquakes should be relieving about 16 feet of accumulated plate movement every 100 years. Yet the San Andreas has not relieved stress that has been building up for more than a century.

Damn that’s some built up shit.

Experts warn an 8 on the Richter scale could hit at any minute. A quake that size along that fault could cost nearly $2 billion in damages to Los Angeles and surrounding areas, which, yea, that was all told about the cost of all my prescriptions meds after dogging it with your mom.

Roasted.
