Go home, Johnny Manziel, you’ve got to be drunk—which, presumably, he might be after the embattled quarterback’s latest comments.

Manziel, whose misfortunes have been well-documented, was seen partying his ass off at Coachella over the past few days and, subsequently, got dropped by his agent of about two weeks, Drew Rosenhaus, yet still had this to tell USA Today:

“I’m hoping to take care of the issues in front of me right now so I can focus on what I have to do if I want to play in 2016,” Manziel said in a statement provided to USA TODAY Sports. “I also continue to be thankful to those who really know me and support me.”

JFF has got to be joking, right? It’s not as if many scouts, coaches and front office people were all that high on Manziel when he came out of college to begin with, yet he’s acting as if his apparent talent overshadows his off-the-field issues. Dude, it’s not like you’re the second-coming of Peyton Manning.

Adding more bad news to the ongoing saga of Johnny Football is this: The Dallas County District Attorney said today that it would present Manziel’s assault case to a grand jury on Thursday. Manziel faces up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine if he’s indicted on the misdemeanor assault charge from the allegation made by his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley.

Based off of everything I just listed, and knowing what they do from his performances on the field, does anyone besides Johnny Manziel really think a team will take a chance on him ever again, let alone this season? Apparently, he does—so you can never question his confidence. You certainly should question his sense of reality, though.
