It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has given us some really… really dark moments over the past ten years, but only one man can lay claim to the absolute darkest: Dennis Reynolds.
Sweet Dee’s bro has been known to go so far overboard that Wild Card Charlie’s shenanigans and Frank’s underhanded schemes seem like child’s play in comparison. The sheer volume of psychotic slip-ups would normally result in a visit from the local authorities, but not in the city of Brotherly Love.
Anyone who watched the episode when Dennis and Mac moved out to the suburbs saw the untethered rage of “The Golden God” aka “The Legend”. For me, Dennis first showed cracks when he bought the boat with Mac using their dick towel money and taught us about “the implication”.
Since then, Dennis’ sociopathic tendencies have been heightened, amplified, edited into a horror / thriller trailer, strung together in a heartfelt compilation, and most often make for the best episodes in the show’s history.
If you’re looking to go above and beyond the D.E.N.N.I.S. System, the sadistic show offers up plenty of life lessons, plus we’ve drunkenly stumbled across some things you didn’t know. I have no idea how things will end with Dennis, but I’d love to see him meet his match.
