Well, maybe some of them didn’t lose everything, but when you’re a billionaire one day and then all of a sudden you’re not, it’s pretty much like the same thing, right? And some of those guys did literally lose every penny.
Boom, gone. Just like that.
It’s incredible that the same intellect responsible for making all that money can also be the same one that leads to losing it all for the guys mentioned there involved in fraud. It’s an psychological anomaly, people. That you can be that smart and have virtually all the money you could ever want, but that’s not enough, so then you resort to ripping off other people just because you can.
And don’t these guys realized that you always get caught? Like, that’s inevitable when you’re running a ponzi scheme or a laundering operations. It’s impossible to do that forever. But I guess that’s never the thought when they start doing it, eh?
Hindsight is 20/20, they say. Too bad you can’t exactly make the same mistake of losing a cool billion dollars twice in life.
