According to a survey done by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there’s at least, least a few thousand of you out there reading this who consider themselves straight but have still had sex with someone of the same gender. Using data from the 2011-2013 National Survey of Family Growth which polled over 9,000 people between the ages of 18 and 44 in the United States, 12.6% of women and 2.8% of men “had engaged in some form of ‘same-sex sexual contact.’”

And while no, 2.8% doesn’t seem like a lot, as Metro puts it “if you have 50 male friends, one of them has probably had gay sex” whereas out of “ten female friends, one of them has probably had gay sex.” Don’t have 50 male friends? No problem! Do you know 50 straight dudes who AREN’T your friends? Congrats, pick the one you like the least and just assume he’s had gay sex. Win-win for both of– …well, for you, at the very least, depending on how you look at it. According to Metro,

The study also found that people who identified as gay or bisexual had experienced hetero-sex – possibly because they experimented before coming out.

…Aaand one more sex stat: men were significantly more likely to identify as only attracted to the opposite sex than women.

So basically, people who identify as straight are still having same-sex sex – but women are doing it more than men.

Tl;dr: sexuality is fluid and there’s nothing wrong with experimentation.
