Once one of the most promising players in the NFL, Aaron Hernandez is now nothing more than a convicted murderer–a prisoner for life with no possibility of parole in Massachusetts’ Souza Baranowski Correctional Center.

Hernandez has been incarcerated since June 2013 after being convicted of first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend’s sister’s boyfriend, Odin Lloyd. Hernandez is also set to go on trial in January for a double-murder that took place outside of Boston in July 2012, which may have been sparked by an accidental bump on the dance floor of a Boston club–leaving two men gunned down in their car outside the club.

I will never truly understand how someone who was just handed a $40 million contract in one of the most elite, glamorous professions on the planet is incentivized to kill someone. That takes a special kind of low-life.

Among all the money, the fame, the women, and the freedom, Aaron Hernandez had to sacrifice   his $1.49 million mansion less than 10 miles from Gillette Stadium. The 5 bed, 6 bath house just hit the market through RedFin Realty, and has a three-car garage, a pool, sauna, wet bar and a movie theater.

Take a look at the shell of a place Hernandez opted out of for a 6×6 steel cage. Fucking idiot.
