After last night’s Duke-Oregon Sweet 16 game, Oregon’s Dillon Brooks claimed that Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski lectured him after he hit a late-game 3-pointer during a blowout win.
When asked about confronting Brooks after the game coach K denied that he said anything to the Oregon player.
“I didn’t say that,” Krzyzewski said. “You can say whatever you want. Dillon Brooks is a hell of a player. I said, ‘You’re a terrific player.’ And you can take whatever he said and then go with it, all right?”
Today, CBS released audio of what coach K told Brooks and it turns out he’s a big fat liar.
Krzyzewski: “You’re too good of a player to showboat.”
Brooks: “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
Krzyzewski : “Too good of a player.”
Brooks: “My bad.”
Welp.
