If there’s one thing that every basketball fan loves, it’s TNT’s Craig Sager, who is known for his whacky and colorful outfit as well as his back-and-forth banter with San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich.
Diagnosed with leukemia in 2014, Sager’s prognosis appeared to be getting better, as he returned to do what he does best—that is until recently, when his doctors told him that his cancer was no longer in remission—which Sager talked about on HBO’s Real Sports:
As you can tell, the pain and sadness in his voice is extremely alarming, as it’s uncommon for a person to have three stem cell transplants, making Sager appear nervous about the road ahead—especially after he’s gone through two stem cell transplants already and was believed to be in remission.
Already receiving a bone marrow transplant from his son, Craig Jr., when first diagnosed, here’s to hoping that the elder Sager keeps on fighting and beats cancer for good. We’re all rooting for him.
Sager did announce that he will remain working during the continued battle.
