Some dude named Stephen Stewart—who was just trying to find a respectable young bro for his 26-year-old, virgin daughter Rachel—took an ad out in the Christian magazine, Christianity Today, and people are raising serious hell about it.
The ad lists the available position as “Son-In-Law,” located in Wheaton, Ill., with some choice words that only a dad could provide to describe his offspring.
Rachel Stewart, who’s dad was probably just thinking he’d get an award from for this kind of promotion, had no idea her pops took the ad out until, naturally, the Internet got a hold of the story and people started leaving comments on her blog.
Here’s what else she had to say about the situation, per the NY Daily News:
“His response was revelatory, ‘One second. Let me close my door.’
“Then came his unapologetic admonition about the entire thing that concluded with him reading it to me. Impressed, but not surprised, I laughed and then hung up.”
“I’m just nervous if this doesn’t work out, next I’ll find my face plastered on a billboard,” she joked.
“Oh gosh, now I’m giving him ideas.”
After running the ad, Christianity Today issued an apology, saying it was “rightfully seen as demeaning” and was “in poor taste,” but, really, what’s wrong with this if the girl doesn’t seem too pissed about it? Fucking oversensitive people, man.
Rachel has played the whole thing about as cool as someone can, so here’s to hoping she finds herself the type of bro her dad wants her to.
