Curt Schilling, a former All-Star pitcher and current ESPN baseball analyst, is, once again, in hot water after he made comments about Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on a Kansas City radio station.
Speaking to 610 Sports, Schilling was asked if Clinton should be imprisoned for accusations of her putting classified State Department emails on a private server. Here’s what Schill said, per Q13 FOX:
“I hope she does. If I’m going to believe, and I don’t have any reason not to believe, that she gave classified information on hundreds if not thousands of emails on a public server after what happened to General Petraeus, she should buried under a jail somewhere,” Schilling said.
When asked about the possibility of Clinton vs. Donald Trump in the general election, Schilling responded, “If she’s allowed to get to the general election before she’s in prison, I’ll be stunned and I’ll be upset.”
Well, OK then.
Dude then joked about how he’d “probably get fired” towards the end of the radio interview.
The World Series champ has opened up on politics before, tweeting a hilarious reply to Donald Trump back in 2015 when the Republican candidate asked who was leading the Democratic Debate.
In reply, ESPN issued a short and formal statement saying, “We are addressing it,” as Schilling’s comments appear to violate guidelines by the network that state employees “should refrain from political editorializing, personal attacks or ‘drive-by’ comments regarding the candidates and their campaigns.”
Schilling has been known to blow up and go on rants before—remember when he compared Muslims to Nazis late last year?—which got him suspended from ESPN, so this isn’t exactly out of the norm for him. But it might be time for ol’ Curt to take a break from, I don’t know, ever speaking in a public forum again. Just my two cents, though.
