An estimated 3 million people tuned into an illegal stream of Saturday night’s fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, and while many of them had no intention of purchasing the fight in the first place, some people had no other option due to server issues that resulted in multiple PPV platforms crashing and caused the fight to ultimately be delayed.

Showtime is currently facing a class action lawsuit because of the technical issues, and it appears the UFC’s Dana White is doing everything he can to avoid a similar fate. He released a statement on Twitter yesterday afternoon in which he promised to provide refunds for anyone who had trouble streaming the fight on the UFC.tv app while subtly placing the blame on digital video technology company NeuLion.

The UFC had previously remained silent when it came to the prospect of refunds. When you consider how highly anticipated this fight was, it’s hard to believe none of the platforms responsible for streaming it were able to anticipate the number of buys it ultimately generated. We hope Dick Vitale gets his money back.
