Saturday night’s fightt between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor was easily the biggest sporting event of the year, and is trending to be the the highest grossing boxing event of all-time.
Despite threats of lawsuits by Showtime the May-Mac fight appears to be the one of the most illegally stremed events in the history of social media.

According to Irdeto, a digital platform security company, 239 illegal streams of the fight were watched by approximately 2,930,598 people: 165 were apparently made available through social media channels such as Facebook, YouTube, Periscope and Twitch, and 67 were available through illegal streaming sites. Kodi, a popular option for pirates, had six available as an add-on through the illicit streaming platform.
Despite all the illegal streams, the May-Mac sales are still projected to go over an insane 4 million buys.
